While they are distinct from the G.I. tagged Kanchipuram sarees from Tamil Nadu, the term "Kanchi pattu" is sometimes used to describe high-quality silk sarees, and some Dharmavaram weaves are referred to as "Semi Kanchipuram" due to their similarity in style and the use of high-quality silk. These sarees are highly sought after for grand occasions and weddings due to their durability, shine, and regal appearance.
